Queering Vamps (Queering Blooodwork)

Queering Bloodwork reimagines the kitchen as a space which doubles as a lab and enables individuals to test and know their own bodies through indicators within blood—one of the key biomaterials used in check ups and early diagnosis in medicine. We are interested in the possibilities of auto-knowledge greater independence from the pharmacological and medical complex. Through at home testing over time, we imagine a knowledge of the self that includes both embodied experiences and the abstracted knowledge of medical science.

How would such knowledge change our relationships to our bodies?

With this world in mind, we created Queering Vamps, an international forum for sharing experiences, news, resources, and questions about bloodwork. Queering Vamps encourages collaboration and sharing across geographies and cultures to strengthen blood knowledges and practices through hacking, research, and sharing stories, methods, and data. Find your community in the subforums!
