Susuwatari 2040

Through telling this story, we are aiming to help people examine the symbiotic relationship with the air, as a commons. In this fictional world-building practise we aim to expose and bring awareness of the present-day approaches that promote an unhealthy treatment towards air and Gaia as a whole.

We are interested in exploring the relationship between humans and non-humans

and how the framing of this interaction as a mutual and respectful exchange will reshape social practises with each other and our environment. Rather than a stark utopian and dystopian vision of the future, the scenario has nuanced implications around the role of individuals and the collective, and embraces a larger more iterative and collaborative approach to creating a more sustainable path forward.
